Aurora "Bobbie" Benavidez

May 12, 1927 — April 13, 2016

Aurora “Bobbie” Benavidez of Waco passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 18, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Benjamin Mangaye and Father Isador Rozychki as Co-Celebrant. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 17, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Aurora was born May 12, 1927, in Marlin, Texas, to Teodoro and Julia Soria. She loved to cook and bake for family and friends and she was a member of the Catholic Women. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jose Benavidez; two sisters, Pauline Flores and Mary Perez; and one grandson, Armando Rey Benavidez. She is survived by three sons, Johnny Benavidez and wife, Carol, of Garland, Texas, Robert Benavidez and wife, Virginia, of Burleson, Texas, and Ralph Benavidez and wife, Josephine, of San Antonio; five daughters, Josie Gonzales and husband, Charles, of Hewitt, Texas, Rebecca Benavidez of Waco, Sylvia Gonzales and husband, Emelio, of Lorena, Texas, JoAnn Wright and husband, Roy, of Waco, and Dianne Ryan and husband, Sam, of Robinson, Texas; 27 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, Scott and White Hospice or Wesley Woods Care Center.
