Aurora "Dora" F. Gonzales November 22, 1926 - June 23, 2013 Dora Gonzales, 86, of Waco was called home Sunday, June 23, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 29, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Father John Guzaldo officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., with Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 28, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Dora was born November 22, 1926 in Waco, Texas to Anastacio and Guadalupe Filoteo. On October 17, 1948 she married her love, Gus Gonzales. They were married 63 years before his passing 10 months ago. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother and faithful friend to all who knew her. Momma will always be remembered for her sense of humor and generosity. She had a way of meeting someone wherever she went and would build a lasting and meaningful friendship. Mom valued and treasured her role as a grandmother to her grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and her friend's children. Young or old, friends knew that Momma would have a bowl full of candy as you entered her home. She loved for everyone to enjoy her sweets and would say "It's your vitamin for the day". She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gus Gonzales; sisters, Guadalupe Grez and Erlinda Trevino; and brother, Joe Filoteo, Sr. Dora will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Gloria Menchaca of De Soto, TX, Gilda Ordones and husband, Manuel of Hewitt, TX; five grandchilldren, Christina, Christopher, and Christian Menchaca, Genee and Matthew Ordones; one great-granddaughter, Rylie Janae Ordones; brothers-in-law, Johnnie Grez, Tom Gonzales and wife, Nancy and Joe Gonzales and wife, Odelia; sister-in-law, Delfina Moreno; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Pallbearers are Christina, Christopher and Christian Menchaca, Manuel, Genee, Matthew and Rylie Ordones and James Faulkner, Jr. Our family would like to thank the staff of Providence Hospice and everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
