Aurora Pizana

December 22, 1924 — September 28, 2002

PIZANA, AURORA Aurora Pizana, age 77, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 28, 2002. Services will be held at 11:30 am Tuesday, October 1 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd., with Rev. Armando Virgen officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 pm Monday, September 30 at the funeral home. Mrs. Pizana was born in Riviera, Texas to Nicolas and Manuela Pizana on December 22, 1924. She lived most of her life in Houston, Texas until June of this year, when she came to live in Waco with her daughter. She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Rodriguez of Houston. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Kina Rocha, and two brothers, Pete Gutierrez and Domingo Pizana. Survivors include her daughter, Yolanda Ortiz of Waco; son, Nicolas Ortiz of Bentley, Texas; eight grandchildren, Debra Gutierrez, Rosie Sais, Joe Sanchez Jr., Nora Ortiz, Monica Ortiz, Sabrina Warren, Nickki Ortiz, and Thomas Rodriguez III; 20 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild, stepsisters, Lupe Ocanas, Manda Lopez both of Odem, Maria Louisa Pizana of Galina Park, and Terry Conners of Maxwell, stepbrothers, Ruben Pizana of Robstown, Juan Pizana, and Tony Pizana both of Odem and numerous other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Gilbert Sais, Christopher Sais, Joe Gutierrez, Joe Gutierrez II, Joe Sanchez and Joe Sanchez Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Phil Sifuentes, Johnny Lopez, Joe Sanchez Sr. and Thomas Rodriguez III.
