Barbara Ellen Whatley August 2, 1939 – November 12, 2006 Barbara Ellen Whatley, Mawmaw 67, of Waco, joined her beloved husband, Bob in Heaven on Sunday, November 12, 2006. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 15 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. A family gathering will be held from 5-7 pm, Tuesday, November 14 in the garden room at the funeral home. A luncheon for family and friends will be held from 11:00 -1:00 pm, prior to the service on Wednesday at the family’s home at 120 Spring Lake Drive, Waco, Texas. Barbara was born in Luray, Virginia, August 2, 1939 and raised by her parents, Arnold F. and Lucille Hilliard Burner. She moved to Texas in 1958 and moved to Waco with her husband, Bob and their six children in 1970. Barbara’s career included Administrator for Crestview Manor Nursing Home, Consultant for nursing homes and convalescent centers around the Central Texas region and Activities Director for the Regis/St. Elizabeth for many years. Barbara enjoyed working with patients and families in the community. Barbara was active in TSTC Women’s Club and American Business Women’s Association. She and her husband enjoyed time with their dear friends in the Gourmet Club which was established in the early 1970’s. After retirement, Barbara enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob and son, David S. Tabor. Survivors include her wonderful sister, Judy Borchevsky and also her brother, Frank Burner and wife, April of Silverspring, MD; daughters, Sherry and husband, George Heck of Centrahoma, OK; Denise and husband, Danny Roberson of Euless; Diane and husband, Jeffrey Butler of Fort Worth; sons, Scott Tabor and wife, Sissy of Euless, Steve Whatley and wife, Carissa of Mesquite; grandchildren, Shannon and husband, Charles Hill, Jerri and husband, Larry Zachary, Ginger and husband, Keith Crawford, Odie Heck and wife, Shasta, Leslie Tabor, Kaley Nimmons, Kelsi Roberson, Erin Tabor, Katelyn Roberson and Darcy Jo Roberson; great grandchildren, Ashley, Alissa, Alexandria, Nathan and Taylor and great great grandchildren, Tyler and Bentley. Pallbearers will be Chris Borchevsky, Don Workman, George Elliott, Gene McMaster, Bob Gentry and Ken Willis. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Cain, Odie Heck and Thomas Fowler.
