Barbara Dean Standlee passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017, in Brownwood, Texas. Graveside Services will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, December 2, at Locker Cemetery, with Rev. Greg Brumit officiating. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, December 1, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco, Texas, and 10:00-11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 2, at First Baptist Church of Early, Texas. Barbara was born May 15, 1929, in Dublin, Texas, to Sam and Nellie Mae Anders. She graduated from Brownwood High School. Barbara married Robert Curtis Standlee on April 29, 1949, and they shared 62 years of marriage before his passing in 2011. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling, the Dallas Cowboys, country music, and taking trips with the senior adults from First Baptist Church of Early. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Curtis Standlee; her parents; and a sister, Betty Christmas. She is survived by her son, Curtis Eugene Standlee; her daughter, Deborah Kay Brumit and husband, Greg; sister, Creta Nell Sallee; and sister-in-law, Judy McCormick and husband, Don. She also leaves to cherish her memory three grandchildren, Pamela Jean Moreno and husband, Ruben, Michael Len Brumit and wife, Lisa, and Timothy Joseph Brumit and wife, Nicole, and their three children, Gavin, Debi and Savannah; and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of the Songbird Lodge of Brownwood for their love and care. Memorials may be made to The Gideons International or a favorite charity.
