BARNEY I. SEELY Barney I. Seely, age 69 of Valley Mills, died Monday, March 3, 2003 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 11:30 am Wednesday, March 5 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Pastor Bill Packer officiating. Burial will be at 3 pm at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, March 4 at the funeral home. Mr. Seely was born October 18, 1933 in Teague, Texas. He graduated from Teague High School in 1951 and received his Bachelor Degree in 1960 from Texas A & M. He was a 1961 graduate of Herman Hospital of Physical Therapy and earned his Masters Degree in 1988 from Baylor University. Mr. Seely was an employee of Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas and the Temple V.A. Hospital. He also worked at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center as a Physical Therapist and served as the Assistant Administrator to Julian Pace. On December 20, 1953, Mr. Seely married Joyce Tucker in Mexia, Texas. He served in the Air Force from 1954 to 1957 and in the Army Reserves for 30 years, retiring with a rank of Lieu ant Colonel. Mr. Seely was a member of the Boy Scouts of America for more than 50 years in youth and adult work. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a Wood Badge Instructor and awarded the Silver Beaver. He was also a SFOA Football Official. Mr. Seely was a Baptist. Woodworking and travel were hobbies he enjoyed. Survivors include his wife, Joyce K. Seely of Valley Mills; sons, Kerry Seely and wife Kim, Brian T. Seely and wife Rita and Andrew Seely and wife Dee Ann; grandchildren, Angela, Bethany, Jessica, Rachel, Emily, John, Elizabeth and Daniel Seely, Christy, Karen and Robyn Seely, Haden and Reagan Seely; and sister, Lucretia Henson and husband Robert M. Henson. Memorials may be made to Bible Baptist Church, 7029 Sanger Ave., Waco, Hillcrest Hospice, and the American Cancer Society, 1311 New Road, Waco.
