OBITUARY FOR : Bennie Lera Spradling Bennie Lee Spradling, 95, of Waco died Sunday, June 22, 2003, at a local nursing home. Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 25, at Waco Memorial Mausoleum Chapel with Chaplain Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial – North. Mrs. Spradling was born June 6, 1908 in Elmo, TX to Benjamin & Emma Linam Sammons. She attended schools in Buffalo and Robinson. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. after many years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She married Monroe M. Fuqua in 1924. He preceded her in death January 29, 1963. She later married David M. Spradling and he died December 30, 1992. She was very adept at giving parties for her friends and family and was a lover of music in her home. She loved to do handwork and crafts, especially at Christmas. She won several ribbons for her creations at the Heart of Texas Fair. She and David traveled extensively after his retirement. They loved to meet people. They were longtime members of Western Heights Baptist Church where she was active in the Faith Sunday School Class. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Reagan and Lee and four sisters, Minnie, Lucy, Betty and Inez. Survivors include nieces and nephews.
