GRIFFIN, BERMA Berma L. Griffin, age 86, of Waco, died Monday, April 1, 2002 at a Denton nursing home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, April 3 at Waco Memorial Park with Rev. Barry Camp officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Griffin was born January 15, 1916 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Mr. and Mrs. H.T. Coggins. At the age of nine years, she moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas, where she graduated from high school in 1934. She moved to Hutchinson, Kansas at the age of 18 years and in 1939, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee and worked for National Life and Accident Insurance Company. She married William H. Griffin in 1941 in Nashville. They moved to Waco in 1942, where she worked for the Veterans Administration, the 12th Air Force and Wells Bookkeeping. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church and substitute Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her husband April 29, 1981. Survivors include daughters, Lisa Martin-Walker and husband, Michael of Wylie and Ellen Harris and husband, Elwood of Denton; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Wilma French of Partridge, Kansas; and brother, Harvey T. Coggins and wife, Dessa of Fort Worth. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
