Bertha Lehmann Vahrenkamp Dawson

DAWSON, BERTHA Bertha Lehmann Vahrenkamp Dawson, age 88, passed away August 3, 2002 at a local hospital. Services will be at 11:30 am Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd., with the Rev. Carrol L. Hambrick officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00-7:30 pm Monday, August 5 at the funeral home. Mrs. Dawson was born November 26, 1913 to Paul and Mary Lehmann of Ross, TX. She made Waco her home for over 65 years and was a member of First Lutheran Church. She was employed by R.E. Cox, Goldstein-Migel, McLennan County Tax and Health Departments, Bill Bailey Fire and Casualty Insurance Company and Knudson Insurance Agency. She was a member of ABWA and lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary #2148. She was preceded in death by her husband H.H. Vahrenkamp in 1976, and by her infant son Billy Ray Vahrenkamp. She married Billy T. Dawson in 1984. She loved the outdoors, her yard and beautiful flower garden, and lovely sunsets. She is loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her husband Billy T. Dawson of Waco; sons, Kenneth Vahrenkamp and wife Jennie of Allen, TX, Darryl Vahrenkamp and wife Martha of Waco; grandchildren, Vicki Allen and husband Randy of Allen, TX, Kenneth P. Vahrenkamp and wife Samantha of Richardson, Darryl Lynn and wife Raina of Waco, Michael Vahrenkamp and wife Terri of Waco; great grandchildren, Chelsea and Courtney Allen, Kyle Bathje and K.P. Vahrenkamp III, Toni Kay and Hunter Vahrenkamp, Courtney and Hayden Vahrenkamp; sisters, Hedwig Leuschner and Minnie Spurgeon; brother, Paul Lehmann; step children, Danny Dawson, Bob Dawson, Donny Dawson, Johnnie R. Dawson and Brenda Oliver. Pallbearers will be Bob Dawson, William Dawson, Don Yaeger, Jr., Kenneth Vahrenkamp, Jr., Michael Vahrenkamp, and Darryl Vahrenkamp, Jr. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, Waco or the individual’s charity of choice.
