BESSIE TATE, 89, of Houston, formerly of Waco, died Friday at a Houston hospital. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at Chilton Cemetery, Reverend Marion Ford officiating. The family will receive visitors from 7-9 PM Monday, April 2 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Tate was born December 29, 1911 in Seaton, TX. She married Robert Mason Tate September 18, 1940. He died January 2, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Lillian Sally Lewallen and her brother Walter Srovnal. Survivors include her nieces, Dolores Jeffrey and her husband Sam and Shirley Buckner and her husband Benford, all of Houston; her nephews, Donald Lewallen and his wife Linda of Robinson and Walter Lewallen of Magnolia; eight great nieces and nephews and ten great great nieces and nephews.
