Beth Jablonowski

Beth Jablonowski October 17, 1922 - November 28, 2013 Beth Jablonowski, a long time Waco resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2013. A private burial will be held Monday morning, December 2. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church of Waco with the Dr. Leslie King officiating. Beth Johnson, the daughter of E.P. and Edola Johnson, was born October 17, 1922. She graduated as valedictorian from Eddy High School and earned her business degree from Baylor University. Following graduation, she worked at Scott and White. She married Edgar Jablonowski in 1945, after he returned from serving in the Pacific. Together, they purchased Lane's Interiors in 1956. Over the next forty-three years, they expanded their store to include furniture, home accessories and bridal registries. Beth loved the many friendships developed during her years at Lane's. She served her community through the Junior League of Waco, the Baylor Foundation and the Kappa Alpha Thetas. First Presbyterian Church of Waco was home to Beth and Edgar, where seldom a Sunday passed without their attendance and where she served as an officer of the church. She filled her spare time playing Mah Jongg with her Thursday group and bridge with close friends. She was an avid fan of Baylor basketball and sporting events involving family members. Beth was preceded in death by Edgar after 66 years of marriage. She is survived by Ann and Jerry Richerson, and Kay and Brent Standefer; grandchildren, Jana Bonifasi, David Richerson, Brent Standefer, Jr., and David Standefer; three great-grandchildren; and nephew, Dave Eichelberger. The family wishes to say a special thank you to Rodica Daniliuc, who has provided loving care for Edgar and Beth for the last several years.
