Betty A. Morrison, 96, of Waco, Texas, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 after a short illness with her family by her side. Her celebration of life service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 13, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. A private family burial will follow after the services at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation begins at 12:00 noon, prior to the chapel service. Betty was born December 24, 1919, in Audubon, Iowa, to Leola and Elijah “Cotton” Stafford. Betty was active her entire life and lived independently. Until the last couple years she was very active at the Harrison Senior Center and numerous bridge groups. She loved the game of bridge and was very good at it. Betty developed long lasting friends who kept in touch with her until the end. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, James H. Morrison; daughter, Sarah Cook; and grandsons, Judson Cruson and Kevin Cook. She is survived by her three daughters, Marilyn Cruson of Slinger, WI, Judy Sellers (Wade), Gaston, SC and Marsha Fishman (David) of Coppell, TX; and son, Jim Morrison (Judy) of Waco; 11 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren; as well as her brother, Earl Stafford and sister, Joan Kaye Hix. Special thanks to Laverne, Joy and Claire. The family would also like to thank Charlene for helping take care of Betty for the last couple years.
