MC SWAIN, BETTY ANN MC CARTNEY Betty Ann McCartney McSwain, age 75 of Waco, died Thursday, May 30, 2002 at her residence. Services will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, June 1 at Austin Ave. Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Robbins and Rev. Art Torpy officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5:00-7:00PM Friday, May 31 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. McSwain was born August 1, 1926 in Bryan. She was the daughter of M. E. and Esther Brewer McCartney. She attended Bryan Public Schools and received a B.A. degree from Baylor University. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She was an early member of the Waco/McLennan County Bar Auxiliary and a member of Thursday Study Club and Literary Club. For a number of years she was sponsor for Baylor Law Wives Club. She served as an officer and member of several civic organizations in Waco. She was a member of Austin Ave. United Methodist Church and Pathfinders Sunday School Class. She was a devoted and loyal wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include husband, Angus S. McSwain, Jr., son, Angus E. Andy McSwain and wife, Christine Rowland McSwain and grandson, Stewart McSwain. Pallbearers will be Bradley J. B. Toben, Thomas M. Featherston, William R. Trail, David G. Swenson, David G. Swenson, David M. Guinn, Michael D. Morrison, and Gerald R. Powell. Honorary pallbearers are Edwin P. Horner and Gardner Gateley.
