BETTY FLYNN Betty Flynn, age 77 of Waco, Texas died December 28, 2002 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 31 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Burial will be at Dallas / Ft Worth National Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m. December 30. Betty was born on November 5, 1925 in Ennis, Texas to Samuel and Janie Matthews, at an early age her family moved to Corsicana, Texas where she went on to graduate from Corsicana High School in 1943. She married Paul Flynn on January 12, 1947 at her home in Corsicana. They moved in 1959 to North Richland Hills and raised their family. She worked in the public school systems as an Administrative Assistant until her retirement in 1983. In 1993 they moved to Waco and became members of the Woodway First United Methodist Church. Most of Betty’s life was spent caring for and loving her family, mainly her grandchildren who would spend much of their Summer vacations shopping and traveling with her. Survivors include her husband, Paul Flynn of Waco; daughter, Jan Simons of Lorena; son, Paul Flynn, Jr. and wife Corrine of Dallas; grandchildren, Sharri Roessler and husband Eddie, Carey Flynn and wife Jodi, Jennifer Flynn and Jeffrey Simons; great-granddaughter, Caroline Roessler. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity of choice.
