Betty Halve Chambliss

October 27, 1929 — February 28, 2003

BETTY HALVE CHAMBLISS Betty Halve Chamliss died Friday, February 28, 2003 at Eden Gardens Assisted Living Community in Concord, North Carolina, following a long illness. Services will be held at 9:30 am Tuesday, March 4 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Cathy Van Deusen officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 Monday, March 3 at the funeral home. Mrs. Chambliss was born October 27, 1929 in Waco, Texas to Max Halve and Helen Frances Glab Halve. She graduated from Waco High School in 1947 and Baylor University in 1951. While residing in Clinton, North Carolina, she taught math at the high school level and was employed by the Clinton Public Library. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. While living in Waco from 1995 to 2000, she was employed by the Eckerd Corporation. Mrs. Chambliss is survived by her sisters, Maxine L. Palmer and Mary Halve Chapman; children, Joseph Barrow Chambliss and Julia Chambliss Roberts; and grandchildren, Jason Abraham Roberts, Adam Joseph Roberts, Benjamin Lewis Roberts, Carter McNair Chambliss and Joseph Tyler Chambliss.
