Betty Nussbaum Betty Nussbaum, 76, formerly of Waco died Sunday February 10, 2002 at her home in Reno, Nevada. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday February 17 at the Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rabbi Mordecai Podet officiating. Burial will follow at the Rodef Sholom Cemetery. Mrs. Nussbaum was born July 23, 1925 in McAllen to Leon and Sadie Berman. She was a McAllen High School graduate of 1942. She attended Our Lady of the Lake College in San Antonio for two years. On October 10, 1943, after moving to Waco, she married Jack Nussbaum. They were married for 39 years before he passed away in a car accident. She was a dedicated homemaker who spent her whole life caring for others. She was active in the community and in the Temple Sisterhood for many years. Her favorite pastimes were card games, bowling, needlepoint, and traveling. Mrs. Nussbaum moved to Reno in 1995 for health reasons. Linda Reid, originally the Nussbaum’s nanny, moved in to care for Mrs. Nussbaum. Linda did an outstanding job of caring for Mrs. Nussbaum and being a companion up until her death. Survivors include two children, son, Larry Jay Nussbaum and wife, Lenore, of Reno, Nevada; daughter, Susi Nussbaum Hearn and husband, Jim, of Keller; two grandchildren, Nicholas Jay and Rebecca Lenore Nussbaum.
