Betty Price Smith May 11, 1927 - December 5, 2012 Betty Price Smith, 85, of Waco passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at St. Catherine Center. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 10, at Oakwood Cemetery with Richard Roland officiating. She will be buried next to her husband of 49 years, Weldon Lloyd Smith Sr., who passed away April 3, 1998. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, December 9, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Betty was born May 11, 1927 in Ballinger, Texas to Robert Vernon and Jessie Price. She graduated from Waco High School in 1944 and received her BBA in Accounting from Baylor University in 1948. She married Weldon Lloyd Smith Sr. on November 26, 1949, in Waco. She began working for National Lloyd's Insurance Company in 1967 and retired in 1985 as the Chief Financial Officer. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brothers, Robert Vernon Price Jr. and Billy Price; and sister, Jo Lu Shand. Survivors include her two sons, Dr. Weldon Lloyd Smith Jr. Eileen of Dallas and Dr. Richard Stan Smith of Abilene; and several grandchildren, Laura Boynton Jay, Stephani Walne Robert, and Dr. Natalie Smith, all of Dallas, and Lindsay Smith of Abilene, Matt Smith Katie of Waco, Morgan Fenoglio Josh of San Antonio, and Drew Smith Ashley of Orlando. In addition she is survived by six great-grandchildren, Allison Allie Boynton, Sam Boynton, Lucy Walne, Brett Walne, Sam Smith, and Elliot Fenoglio. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Family would like to thank her physicians and nurses at Providence Hospital, and her caregivers at St. Catherine Center and Providence Hospice.
