Betty Bruce passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with Rev. Seung Ho Bang officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour before the service at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.


Betty was born September 13, 1926, in Atchison, Kansas, to Millard and Nellie Tate. Betty was educated in Atchison and Houston. She married Nathan H. Bruce on June 9, 1946. She worked as a realtor/broker in Waco for 45 years. She enjoyed her family, cooking, playing dominoes, going to the casinos, and in her later years, was an avid Texas Rangers baseball fan.


She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nathan Bruce; brothers, Millard Tate and James Henry Tate; sister, Ruth Evelyn Smith; grandson, Ricky Bruce; and daughter-in-law, Donna Bruce.


She is survived by her children, Nathan Bruce, Jerry Bruce and wife, Patricia, and Polly Paton and husband, Grant; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
