Betty Whaley July 4, 1938 - February 2, 2015 Betty Whaley of Waco passed away Monday, February 2, 2015. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 6, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Pastor Roger Huff officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 5, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Betty was born July 4, 1938, in Abbott, Texas, to Wiley and Ruby Scott Altum. She retired from Lone Star Gas/TXU Energy. Betty married Jake Whaley on August 30, 1974, and they enjoyed 35 years together before his death on March 2, 2010. Betty was a very faithful member of Community Fellowship Church of the Nazarene. Both Betty and Jake graduated from LaVega High School and remained loyal "Pirates" throughout the years. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Jake. She is survived by her "kids", Paula and Tracy Lightfoot; her special godsons, Kevin and Keith Lightfoot; aunt, Myra Smith of Ft. Worth; cousins, Garry Smith and Curtis Smith of Ft. Worth, Kenneth Maler, Jerry Maler, Beulah Zahirniak, Beverly Keen and Janet Peterson, all of West, Texas; as well as a large circle of good friends. Pallbearers are Tracy Lightfoot, Kevin Lightfoot, Keith Lightfoot, Mike Dameron, Derral Parks and Bill Hinnen. Memorials may be made to St. Catherine Center.
