Betty Whitear Stone January 6, 1928 – October 8, 2005 Betty Whitear Stone, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Providence Hospital. Services will be at 1:30 PM Wednesday, October 12 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Bosque Chapel with Ernie Christie officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 11 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Betty was born January 6, 1928 to Bertram Beacham and Ethel Whitear Hayward in Twickenham, Middlesex, England Betty earned her U. S. citizenship after locating to the U. S. as a WWII bride. She worked at Hillcrest Hospital Radiology and the Waco Tribune Herald. After retirement, Betty remained active by house and pet sitting for a number of local physicians whom she had developed friendships while employed at Hillcrest Hospital. Betty has been a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and was a member of Lake Shore Church of Christ in Waco. She is survived by son, Warner Harold Stone, Jr. and wife, Ginger of Bruceville, daughters, Pam Stone Parshall and husband, Bill of McGregor, Beverly Stone Schroeder and husband, Marvin of Waco and Diane Stone Diemer and husband, Edwin of Dublin, CA; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, her dear friends from the “Waco British Wives Club”, Dr. and Mrs. Donald Reisinger and Dr. and Mrs. Jerry Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warner Harold Stone, Sr. and parents, Bertram Beacham and Ethel Whitear Hayward . Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the American Cancer Society.
