Beverly Ann Johnston

Beverly Ann Wollard Johnston, 89, passed away on August 6, 2017. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, August 9, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, Waco, Texas. Burial will be in Missouri. Beverly, one of seven children born to Tom and Hester Wollard, grew up on a farm near Hardin, Missouri. After graduating from high school she attended business school in Kansas City, then started working for the Kansas City Ticket Company. On March 11, 1950, Beverly married Osby Edward Johnston and lived happily in the Kansas City area for over 50 years; Colorado Springs, Colorado, 10 years; and Woodway, Texas, for 10 years. Beverly and her husband were members of Broadway Methodist Church, Kansas City, Missouri, for over 60 years where they both taught Sunday School. She was a proud member of the Women of The Motion Picture Industry in Kansas City. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years; and six siblings. Surviving are her son, Edward and wife, Marilyn, of Sierra Vista, Arizona; a daughter, Deborah of Woodway; one grandson, Ward and wife, Petrika Peters Johnston; and two great grandsons, Olson Osby and Wren Stewart of Spearfish, South Dakota. She has four sisters-in-law, five nieces and nine nephews. Beverly took great pride and enjoyment in her family and friends and never missed sending birthday cards to many.
