Beverly Margarite Crook, 86, passed away on Sunday, January 10th at Providence Hospital in Waco, Texas. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 13th from 5-7 pm at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey. Funeral service will be Thursday, January 14th at 11 am, at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey. Beverly was born December 15, 1934 in Ft. Worth, TX to Osborn Sales Jones and Dollie Mae Shine Jones. She attended Polytechnic High School and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Woman's University in 1956 with a degree in Occupational Therapy. She worked at the Waco Veteran's Administration Hospital for 38 years and retired 1994, as the Chief of Rehab Medicine. She was an avid gardener, outstanding cook, and organizer extraordinaire, teaching anyone who had the privilege of meeting her at least one thing-whether it was how to care for irises (one of her favorite flowers), or how to stay focused on what matters during hardships, her teaching expertise extended beyond the tangible, as did her love and presence. She was an active volunteer at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church Internationals program and the Historic Waco Foundation. Known as Bebe to her grandchildren, and later, to friends, she always had a pan of brownies and a Dr. Pepper ready for anyone who might come by. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Rob Ray Crook, who always said he "married up", parents O.S. and Dollie Mae Jones, sister, Paula Jones. She is survived by son, Rob Roy Crook and husband, Michael Dobies of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, daughter, Margaret George and husband, Robert George of Waco, grandchildren Bobby George, Georgie Holland, Hank Holland, Jackson George, numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of dear friends. Honorary Pallbearers are Robert George, Bobby George, Hank Holland, Jackson George, Bubba Green, Kevin Krause. Memorials may be made to Columbus Avenue Baptist Church Internationals Program, Historic Waco Foundation, the Alzheimer's Association, or the charity of your choice. "How did you find me?" "I always find you, Mom" Special thanks to the staff at Stoney Brook Memory Care, the 3 South staff at Providence, and Providence Hospice.
