Beverly Wray Morrison joined her heavenly Lord on December 16, 2020, in Tyler, Texas at The Heights Nursing Home. A private graveside service will be held at the Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas, on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Morrison will be laid to rest at the side of her husband, Dr. Bergen Morrison. Beverly was born in Houston, Texas on July 24th to Henry and Emma Wray. She grew up in Houston and graduated from River Oaks High School. Beverly attended Baylor University, and in 1949 she graduated with a degree in elementary education and music. On June 2, 1949, Beverly married Bergen Morrison. She taught first grade for one year and left education to become a full-time mother. All types of handwork were enjoyed by Beverly, who excelled in needlepoint. Reading was a favorite pastime of hers, which led her to be a long-time member of the Harston Book Club. She was also a long-time member of two bridge clubs. Mrs. Morrison was active in the McLennan County Medical Auxiliary, serving as its President for a period of time. Beverly loved Baylor and avidly supported the Baylor Foundation, the Lady Bears Basketball team, and co-founded two scholarships for pre-med students and students in med school at Baylor Medical in Galveston with her husband. Beverly and her family joined Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in 1956, where she was an active member and served the Lord until 2012, when she moved to Tyler to be close to her family. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Emma Wray; her brother, Jimmy Wray and his wife, Alice; and her husband, Bergen. Surviving are her children, Kyle Morrison and his wife, Jane Ann, of Tyler, Cathy Morrison of Sulphur Springs, and Elaine Sauber and her husband, Phil, of Missouri City, Texas; grandchildren include John Morrison and his wife, Ashely, of Tyler, Matt Morrison and wife, Hong, of Dallas, and Hannah and Nicolas Sauber of Missouri City; and great-grandchildren, Avery and Tatum Morrison of Tyler, and Mark Morrison of Dallas.
