Billie J. Ellison September 19, 1921 - August 10, 2012 Billie Jo Brown Ellison of Waco passed away Friday, August 10, 2012. Graveside services will be Monday, August 13 at 10:00 .m. at Waco Memorial Park with Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. She was born September 19, 1921, in Mart, Texas, to Albert Stanton and Cora Lee Brown, pioneer settlers in the Mart community. Mrs. Ellison graduated from Mart High School in 1939. She began a 40-year career with the Texas Department of Human Resources in 1943, as secretary to the area supervisor. She retired with the distinction of being the longest serving Texas State employee. On the third day of September, 1949, she and William H. Ellison, a fireman for the City of Waco, were united in a marriage that lasted until his death on March 2, 1985. They were long and faithful members of Western Heights Baptist Church. They were devoted to their church, loving family and friends. She has resided at Ridgecrest Retirement Center since 2004. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Mattie Brown, Elizabeth Fowler, Thelma Hughes; brothers, Frank and Johnny Brown; and nephews, Robert Fowler, Kennith Brown, and Frank Giles Brown. Mrs. Ellison is survived by her nephew, John W. Brown; nieces, Dorothy Heflin, Ann Johnson, Bonita Fowler, Teresa Bryant, Wanda Earles, Elnora Eaton, Linda Bennett, Nancy Bradford, Linda Roberson, and Darlene Johnson; and sister-in-law, Marie Ellison.
