Billie Katherine Cox of Waco passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017. A private memorial will be held at her home. Billie Kay was born April 15, 1926, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Forrest Eugene Stallings and Winnie Raley Stallings. Billie was reared in the Rio Grande Valley and educated at Lyford High School, Baylor University and the New York School of Interior Design. In 1943 she came to Waco to attend Baylor University, was married and very active in various community affairs. She was a member of Central Christian Church, past President of the Junior League of Waco, Board Chairman of the Evangelia Settlement, served on the Family Counseling Board, docent for Cameron Park Zoo and many other boards. She was also a member of the Board of Directors and Council Member of Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation in Arizona and Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Forrest Stallings Cox. She is survived by her son, Val M. Cox IV; daughter-in-law, Terri Burns Cox; niece, Katherine Peck and husband, David; great nieces, Kawin and Kendall; and many very special friends. She requested that memorials be made to Cameron Park Zoological Society, Waco Foundation, Waco Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
