Billie Lucille Westbrook December 15, 1924 - November 14, 2013 Billie Lucille "Lucy" Westbrook, 88, of Waco, Texas passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. A family graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in December. Mrs. Westbrook was born December 15, 1924, in Hico, Texas to Floyd and Lillian Jensen Sr. She graduated from Waco High School and from Baylor University. She married Thomas Battle Westbrook Jr. of Waco on July 24, 1945, and was his "Sweet Lucy" throughout their lives. A lifelong resident of Waco, Mrs. Westbrook was a devoted and beloved wife and mother and a dear and lasting friend to many, who will hold her forever in their hearts. She touched countless lives with her love, compassion, generosity and grace. Whether sharing cookies, joining her Piccadilly lunch girls, gardening with Tommy, traveling the world or watching birds enjoying "Tom & Lucy's Feed Store" beyond her window, Lucy savored and adored life. And like her elegant handwriting, she was beautiful to the end. She also was loved and will be missed by her special caregivers, Maria, Mary, Nita, Andrea and Flora, for whom her family is ever grateful. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. A member of First Presbyterian Church of Waco, Mrs. Westbrook is survived by a daughter, Kay Whelan, and husband Leo Whelan, of Dallas; a son, Thomas Bruce Westbrook, and wife Michele Meyer, of Houston; her brother, Floyd Jensen Jr. of Waco; and three grandchildren, Mark, Stacy and Jourdan, and five great-grandchildren, Shelby, Matthew, Luke, Jack and Westbrook Battle, all of Dallas.
