Billie Miller May 28, 1927 February 18, 2011 Our mother, granny, relative and friend, Willie Mae "Billie" Miller died Friday, February 18, 2011 and sits at the side of the Heavenly Father continuing to watch over us all as she has done for the last 83 years. She loved and was loved by all and will be missed more than can be expressed. Services will be Monday, February 21, at 3:30 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Dr. Steve Mansen officiating. Burial will follow at Robinson Cemetery, A reception will follow at the Quality Inn and Suites, 2410 S. New Road, the N/W corner of I-35 and New Road. Visitation will be Sunday, February 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. Billie was born in Mart, Texas on May 28, 1927. She spent her young years in Mart and has told stories of the wonderful times playing with her friends and cousins. She moved to Waco in her teens and lived in a convent while working at the local hospital. She began her long career in banking when she was 14 and retired in 1994 at the age of 67. She then moved to Austin to live with her son, Paul, and family. Granny was blessed to have been able to spend years with her three grandkids and her spirit shows in all of them. She was pleased to have lived the last 10 years independently with her poodle, Magic. Her spirit and sense of humor captivated everyone she met resulting in so many friends who will miss her. Billie was Christian and read the scriptures and prayed to God daily. We are comforted that she is beginning her Heavenly journey with her son, Ryan, whom she has missed for 41 years, and that she no longer must deal with the frailties of mortal life. Billie was preceded in death by her son, Ryan Miller, whom she lost in an accident in 1970 at the age of 16. She has longed for the day that she would see him again. She is survived by her son, Paul Miller and wife, Karen; grandsons, Bryan and wife, Lina, Troy and wife Andrea, Wade, great grandkids, Brody and Karma. She also survived by a host of long time friends in both Waco and Austin. In lieu of flowers Billie would appreciate memorial contributions to your local humane society or to Austin Recovery Center, 8402 Cross Park Dr, Austin, Texas, 78754.
