Billy C. Anderson, age 85, of Woodway, died Sunday, October 16, 2016. At his request there will be no public visitation or funeral service. He will be interred at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro, Texas. Bill was born in West, Texas on October 30, 1930 to Frank D. and Laura M. Richey Anderson. He was raised from an early age by a step-father, John R. Robbins. Bill had been a member of First Baptist Church of Woodway for the past 25 years. Bill graduated from Louisiana State University with a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering in January, 1953, and received a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. After training at Keesler AFB and Sandia Base, he served during the latter part of the Korean Conflict as an Atomic Weapons Officer in the Strategic Air Command. While in Military service he met and married his wife of 63 years, Loraine M. Sandelowitz, of Yoakum, Texas. Bill worked for Atlantic Refining Company, which later became Atlantic Richfield Company, for 32 years. While with ARCO, he worked in east Texas, Lafayette, LA, Bakersfield and Long Beach, CA in various production engineering and reservoir engineering positions. In 1968 he transferred to Anchorage, AK as a Senior Analytical Engineer serving as reservoir engineering supervisor for the Prudhoe Bay Field, and later became District Engineer for Cook Inlet. In 1972 he transferred to North American Producing Division headquarters in Dallas where he served for ten years in various managerial positions in the Planning and Evaluation Department. In 1981 he transferred to Midland where he held the position of Permian District Engineering Manager. He retired in 1985 in Midland. Bill was a Registered Professional Engineer in Louisiana and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frank K. Anderson; and a step-sister, Milly Jo Robbins. Bill is survived by his wife, Loraine; sons, Chuck Anderson and wife Cindy; and Russell Anderson and wife Kathy; and three granddaughters, Amanda, Samantha, and Amy.
