Billy Charles Swenson September 8, 1932 - October 3, 2012 Billy Charles Bill Swenson, age 80, went to be with the Lord on October 3, 2012. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 6, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Brad Britton officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 5, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Bill was a native of Waco, graduating from Waco High School in 1951. He worked in the finance business for many years before becoming the Texas Distributor for Country Estate Fence. With fence clients all over Texas and Oklahoma, he excelled in this business until his retirement in 2008. Bill and his wife were members of Central United Methodist Church, where Bill served in many capacities with his greatest love serving as a greeter. Over the years Bill's contagious smile and hearty handshake welcomed members and visitors alike to the church where his family has been members for three generations. Bill was extensively involved in the Richfield High School Booster Club, and served as president of the Waco Flying Dolphins swim team in the 1970s and 80s while his son, Scott, was a competitive swimmer. He was instrumental in lobbying the Waco ISD to start the first swim team at Richfield High School in 1978. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mabel and Swen Swenson. He is survived by his wife, Jadean Swenson; his daughter, Lori Leal of Houston; his son, Scott Swenson and wife, Carla, of Lakeway, TX; and two grandsons, Will and Zach Swenson. Pallbearers are Will Swenson, Zach Swenson, Barkley Wedemeyer, Floyd Miller, Mike Kennemer and James Burris. Honorary pallbearers are Albert Hampel, Harvey Pierce and Wes Schreiber.
