Billy John Gibbs November 7, 1932 - April 30, 2015 Billy John Gibbs of Mt. Calm passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 4, at First Baptist Church of Mt. Calm with Pastor Bob Rainey officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calm Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, May 3, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Bill was born November 7, 1932, in Bell County, Texas, to Chester and Kittie Gibbs. He graduated from Rice University in 1955 and served in the U.S. Army in Korea. Bill and Patsy Brown married in 1959 and moved to Waco the next year. He retired from Alliant Techsystems in McGregor, after 35 years of service. Bill and Patsy moved to Mt. Calm to their "Ponderosa" in 2002. Bill was an active member of Mt. Calm Methodist Church. Bill a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved fishing, being outdoors and gardening. He could fix or repair almost anything. He was a formidable domino and card player and he loved teaching his grandchildren how to play. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Kittye Lee Morris. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patsy Brown Gibbs of Mt. Calm; sons, Glenn Gibbs and wife, Shelby, of Dallas, Danny Gibbs and wife, Judy, of Rockwall, Texas, and Johnny Gibbs and wife, Dawn, of Dallas; grandchildren, Sarah Griesemer and husband, Chris, Justin Gibbs, Jordan Gibbs, Daniel Gibbs, Jacob Salmon and Joshua Salmon; and great granddaughter, Avery Griesemer.
