Bobbie Jean Compton

Bobbie Jean Compton June 6, 1923 - September 4, 2015 Bobbie Jean Compton, 92, of Waco, joined her Lord as she passed peacefully Friday, September 4, 2015, at Sonoma House in Carrollton, Texas. Her graveside services will be 10:30, a.m., Saturday, September 12, at Waco Memorial Park. Bobbie was born June 6, 1923 in Chillicothe, Texas, to John Young Harrison and Louisa Leona Johnson Harrison. She worked for over 35 years and retired from American Amicable Life Insurance Company in Waco. She was a lifelong member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. She married James Dubert Jimmy Compton on February 8, 1947 at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church and had one daughter, Kay L. Compton Hughes. She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Compton, parents, John and Louisa Harrison, sisters, Nina Lee Davis, Sybil Louise Teichelman; brothers, John Gilliam Jack Harrison, Charles Oran Rusty Harrison, Raymond Young Dutch Harrison and James Monroe Harrison. Bobbie leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Kay and son-in-law, Daniel Hughes, of Plano; one sister, Reeva C. Hawkins, of Bullard and many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
