Bobby Eugene Williams May 13, 1932 – September 20, 2006 Bobby Eugene Williams, 74, of Austin passed away September 20, 2006 in Temple, Texas. Services will be held Monday, September 25 at 2:00 pm at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Bishop Ron Burgener conducting. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, September 24 from 6-8:00 pm at the funeral home. Bobby was born May 13, 1932 in Waco to Samuel Gilbert Williams and Annix Luther Williams. He graduated from Waco High School in 1950 and then joined the Navy and served on a Destroyer during the Korean War. He served in the Navy for 4 years. Bobby also went to Baylor University and earned a degree in Criminal Justice. He worked for the State of Texas as a highway patrolman and then worked in the Governor’s office of traffic safety. He also taught management classes to state employees. He married La Nere Cleveland in Waco, November 26, 1956 at St. John’s Methodist Church and from this union they had one son, Dr. Vincent Dean Williams. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Samuel Gilbert Williams, Jr. Survivors include his wife, La Nere Cleveland Williams; son, Dr. Vincent Dean Williams and wife, Kim of Woodstock, GA; brother-in-law, Michael Cleveland and wife, Laurie; nephew, Brandon Cleveland and niece, Mikayla Cleveland.
