FORREST, BOBBY Bobby Wallace Forrest, 83, of Waco, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2003 at a local hospital. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with the Chaplain Curtis Holland officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be 6-8p.m. Monday, November 17, 2003 at the Funeral Home. Bobby was born to J.B. and Eva Forrest on August 13, 1920 in Pendleton, Texas where he was raised and educated. He attended San Diego State University and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed by Firestone Tire and Rubber Company for 38 years. He was a Master Mason and Past Master of J.A. Gurley Lodge No. 337 and was a 32° KCCH Scottish Mason, a member of York Rite Bodies Chapter, Council and Commandry York Rite College and Red Cross of Constantine. He was also a member of the Karem Shrine Temple, where he was a member of the parade staff, Shrine Past Masters, and the Hillbilly Clan. In 2003, he was awarded the Golden Trowel Award. He was a member of Eastern Star McLennan 639 Chapter and Past Worthy Patron of Centennial Chapter 842. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Edith Curlee and Willie Faye Moore and one brother, Merrill “Big Six” Forrest. Bobby is survived by his wife, Doris Forrest; one son, Jerry Forrest and wife Penny of Waco. He is also survived by his step-children, J.R. and Terry Smith of Addison, Lynda and Richard Thurman of Shreveport, Louisiana, Jane and Charles Murff, Larry and Sharon Smith and Rita Norred all of Waco. He has 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters, Marie Cagle of Moody and Ray Inell Talley of Fort Worth and his brothers, Jess Forrest of Houston and C.H. Forrest of Hurst and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Robert Forrest, Charles Murff, John Spann, Felix Matula, Harold Jackson and Dan Weyenberg. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cliff Teer, Bruce Smith, Glenn Burns, Kenny Williams, John Lamb, Howard Porter, and Alton “Bugg” Abernathy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scottish Rite Childrens Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
