Brenda Lee Epps

August 19, 1954 — March 23, 2017

Brenda Lee Epps joined our Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 23, 2017. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas, with Pastor Mike Dunson of First Christian Church of Belton officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 27, 2017, at Wilkirson-Hatch Bailey Funeral Home. Brenda was born on August 19, 1954, in Waco, Texas, as the only child of Col. Robert A. Campbell, D.D.S. and Suzann Simmons Kendrick (formerly of Waco). As a military daughter, she grew up many beautiful cities around the world, including Baltimore, Maryland, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria, Germany and Honolulu, Hawaii, before finally settling back in her birth city of Waco, Texas. She attended high school at St. Andrews Priory School in Honolulu, then Kent State University Stark Campus with her focus on Psychology. She married her adoring husband, Edgar Epps, on August 7, 1982, and together they lovingly raised her daughter, Toni Pirrello. During the latter part of her years, she was a shipping coordinator for Huck Manufacturing before her unfortunate illness prohibited her from working any longer. The amount of strength and resolve she demonstrated throughout the rest of her days was nothing short of extraordinary. She loved life, loved her family, and loved her music. When she wasn’t listening to her favorite classic rock L.P.s, she could be found playing her favorites on her guitar, often at the request of her family. She and her husband attended First Christian Church in Belton, Texas, where they found a sense a kinship and home with the teachings of Pastor Mike Dunson. Brenda was preceded in death by her grandparents: W.B. Simmons, grandfather, Lucy Belle Simmons, grandmother, Commander A.A. Campbell USN-Retired, grandfather, and Helen Campbell, grandmother. Survivors include her husband, Edgar Epps, of Belton; her parents, Suzann Kendrick and her husband, Joe, of Tyler, Texas, and Col. Robert A. Campbell, D.D.S. and his wife, Carol, of Richmond, Texas; her daughter Toni Pirrello, and her husband, Dustin, of China Spring; her grandchildren, Nikki, Sofie, and Aydan, of China Spring; her step-daughter, Melissa Whalin and her children, Tyler and Tayler, of Wheatland, Oklahoma; and her mother-in-law, Bernice Golson, of Norman, Oklahoma. Honorary pallbearers include: Dustin Pirrello of China Spring; Roger Epps of Tuttle, Oklahoma; Steven Epps of New Albany, Ohio; Bill Bailey, of China Spring, Cody Bailey, of Austin; Chris Metcalf of Waco; and Troy Pierce of Waco. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 100 Water Street, P.O. Box 367, Belton, Texas, 76513.
