Brenda Louise Smith

Brenda Louise Smith passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017. Graveside Services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 10, at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, October 9, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Brenda was born December 14, 1946, in Waco, Texas, to George and Ellouise Derting. She was a 1965 graduate of Waco High School. Prior to her retirement, Brenda served as a judicial assistant at the U.S. Courthouse in Waco to both U.S. Magistrate Judge Dennis G. Green and U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeffrey C. Manske. She enjoyed traveling with her mother and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Waco. She was preceded in death by her father, George Derting, Jr. She is survived by her mother, Ellouise Derting; and brother, Joey W. Derting. The family wishes to thank the employees of Greenview Manor for many years of love and care, as well as her caregivers, Lynda and Antonio. Memorials may be made to Fuzzy Friends Rescue.
