Britt William Villines, Jr. April 14, 1921 June 27, 2008 Britt William Villines, Jr., 87, of China Spring passed away June 27, 2008, at a Texas Veterans Home. Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 9:30 a.m., at Waco Memorial Park with Rev. Allen Grant officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 1, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Britt was born April 14, 1921 in Smithville, TX. He graduated from Waco High School in 1940, and he married the love of his life, Peggy Saunders, on December 14, 1940. They were happily married 63 years. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II, returned to Waco and worked for the Waco News Tribune Herald for over forty years. Britt was member of the Waco Masonic Grand Lodge for over fifty years. He was a member of the China Spring Methodist Church. His hobbies were farming and ranching. Britt was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his son Britt Villines III and wife Elizabeth of Tuleta, TX; grandchildren Jason and wife Leighann, Elissa and husband Matt Shaw; great-grandchildren Britt and Samuel Villines; sisters-in-law Margaret Jaynes and husband Dalton of Waco and Amelia Mostyn and husband Kenneth of Lexington, TX.
