Brown L. Smith passed away Friday, March 1, 2024. There will be a private family graveside service in Kempner, Texas with Chris Kachuriak officiating.
Brown was born August 24, 1937 in Lampasas, Texas, to Raymond Darrell (R.D.) Smith and Loveta Mae Smith.
Brown L. Smith graduated from Howard Payne University with a bachelor’s degree. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Brown L. was a football coach, Athletic Director, and inducted into the Texas High School Coaches Hall of Fame. His interests included playing cards, watching anything sports related, and traveling. He was an active member of Brazos Meadows Baptist Church in Hewitt, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Darrell Smith; mother, Loveta Mae Smith; wife, Lynnette Smith; brother R.D. Smith, and son, Paul Grosshans.
He is survived by his children, Steve Smith and wife Tonya, Becky Agnew, Janet LeJeune and husband Warren, Michelle Kachuriak and husband Chris; grandchildren, Bryan Chambers, Sady Keenum, Kristen Rogers, Jeff Grosshans, Lauren Grosshans, Dalton Levy, Karleigh Williams, Jordan Smith, and Sidney Smith; and 15 great grandchildren.
