B. F. Mansell, Jr. December 31, 1923 – August 20, 2007 Burney Fuller B.F. Mansell, Jr. passed away on Monday, August 20, 2007. Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, August 23 at Oakwood Cemetery. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Bosque Chapel with Rev. Kay Hawkins and Rev. T. Brian Pendleton officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. B.F. was born December 31, 1923 in Waco, to Burney Fuller Mansell, Sr. and Ola Mae Hatchell Mansell. A life long resident of Waco, he graduated from Waco High School and attended Baylor University. He retired from McDonald Automotive in 1985. While working at Beard and Stone, he met Dorothy Purvis and they were married July 19, 1947. They were happily married for 60 years and 1 month. B.F. has been a member of the Masons for over 60 years and was a member of Waco Masonic Lodge #92. B.F. and Dorothy were members of St. John’s Methodist Church for many years, and are now active members of Cogdell Memorial United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Calvin E. Mansell; and niece, Patricia Mansell. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Mansell; his sister, Martha Mansell Pior and husband, Bob of San Antonio; sister-in-law, Toni Mansell of San Antonio; one nephew, Gary Mansell Pior of Spring, TX; four nieces, Linda Pior Darnell of Manvel, TX; Laura Pior Taylor of San Antonio; Lisa Pior Byrd of San Antonio; and Kitty Mansell Merritt of Eustis, Florida; and his extended family, Ginger Green and Sharon Amelunke, both of Waco. Pallbearers are Frank Anderson, Alex Federwisch, Carroll Fletcher, Richard Jackson, Maynard Miller and George Sessler. Honorary pallbearers are Bob Pior, Gary Pior, Gerald Taylor, Bill Bailey, Jerry Green, Billy Mills and Taylor Starr. Memorials may be made to Cogdell Memorial United Methodist Church, 1201 W. Hwy 6, Waco, TX 76710 or the charity of your choice. The family wishes to express their deepest ‘Thank You’ to Providence Hospice for their loving care during our trying times.
