Burrell Martin Dulany, Jr. June 3, 1937-August 30, 2007 Burrell Martin Dulany, Jr. , of Waco, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, August 30, 2007. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 3rd at First United Methodist Church of Waco, with the Reverend Stephen Ramsdell officiating. Burial will follow at Stanford Chapel. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, September 2nd, at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Garden Room. Burrell was born on June 3rd, 1937 in Tomball, TX to Burrell Martin Dulany, Sr. and Laura Edith Dulany. Burrell graduated from Ganado High School in 1955. He attended Victoria Junior College and graduated from Lamar University in 1959. On August 30th, 1957, he married his high school sweetheart, Gloria Adler. Burrell served in the U.S. Army before beginning his career in banking. His first job was a cashier at Citizens State Bank in Ganado, TX in 1960. Soon after, he became a national bank examiner. From 1966-1993, Burrell worked at Westview National Bank, Central National Bank, Marble Falls National Bank, Pioneer Savings and Southwest Savings and Loan. In 1993, he bought the First State Bank of Riesel, where he was President and Chairman of the Board. He sold the bank in 1997 and retired. Burrell was active in many civic organizations. He was president of the Northwest Kiwanis Club and served on the Midway ISD School board. He had a passion for little league baseball, where he coached for many years, leading the 1976 Woodway All-Stars to the State semi-finals. He coached pee wee football at Lake Air Youth League. His other passions were hunting and fishing with his sons, grandchildren, family and friends. He was also a master of crossword puzzles. Burrell was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Waco, where he served on the finance committee and also served as an usher. True to form for Burrell, as he gave in life he gave in death through organ donation. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Gloria; sons, Ken and his wife, Lori of Ethiopia; Gary and his wife, Frances of Georgetown; Doug and his wife, Denise of Keller; and nine grandchildren; Austin and Ryan of Georgetown; Josh, Matt and Katy of Ethiopia; and Trace, Hope, Peyton and Kaelen of Keller; brother, Larry, and wife, Lana of Eagle Lake; sisters, Wanda Magee of Bryan and Barbara Nagel and husband, Kyle and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Jerry Nye, Reggie Reynolds, Darwin Miller, Curtis Glockzin, Reeder Huddleston, Gary Welch, Earl Rusk and J. Olin Hudson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rafiki Foundation at First United Methodist Church of Waco or Meals on Wheels at First United Methodist Church of Waco.
