Cameron M. Talbert, Jr.

TALBERT JR. CAMERON M. Cameron M. Talbert, Jr., 83, of Waco, passed away Friday, January 28, 2005 at his residence. Graveside services will be at 12:30pm, Monday, January 31, at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Ramsdell officiating, Masonic service will follow. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7 pm, Sunday, January 30 at the funeral home. Cameron M. Talbert, Jr. was born in China Spring, October 15, 1921 to Cameron M. Talbert, Sr. and Kathleen Smith Talbert. Cameron Jr. graduated Waco High in 1939 and earned his BBA from Baylor University in 1943. During World War II he served as a Lt. in the Navy aboard the USS Queens from 1943-1946. He married Polly Billington in Austin on May 17, 1958. Upon his return to Waco, he practiced as a Certified Public Accountant for Upleger and Co. In 1952, he opened his own office and retired in 1994, leaving Cameron M. III to carry on the business. He was a member of Waco Masonic Lodge 92, Scottish Rite, 32 degree. He was also a member of Karem Temple, Shrine Band, Royal Order of Jester Waco Court #115 and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Steve. Survivors include his wife, Polly B.; son, Cameron M. III and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Tara and Cameron IV, all of Waco; nephew, Larry G. Hollingsworth and wife Suzanne; great niece Meredith; great nephew, Clay, all of Dallas; great niece, Lesli H. Vernon and husband Lee of Austin, Texas.
