Carie Jean Dodson Buck September 28, 1935 - March 27, 2011 Carie Jean Buck, 75, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 27, 2011, at Regent Care Center of Waco. A memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 30, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Huckeby of Grace Temple Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Carie was born September 28, 1935 in Rosebud, Texas, to Joseph Marion and Lillie Mae Schlemmer Dodson. After the family relocated to Waco, she attended Waco schools and graduated from Waco High School in 1953. Jean worked at Owens-Illinois Glass Plant and James Connally Air Force Base in Waco. She lived in Japan, San Francisco, California, Fort Worth and Big Spring, Texas, and Shreveport, Louisiana. After retirement, she did substitute teaching in the Shreveport Public School System. She and her companion of 30 years, Marvin Jones, enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. She moved back to Waco in 2008 to reside at Regent Care Center. She was a member of Woodridge Baptist Church in Shreveport for many years and was a member of Grace Temple Baptist Church in Waco at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Marion Thomas Buck; the father of her sons, Jonnie Lee Buck; brother, George Dodson; sisters, Betty Dickens and Merle Neumann; and Marvin Jones. She is survived by her son, Henry Joseph "Bucky" Buck of Waco; brother, Harold Dodson and wife, Carolyn, of Waco; sisters, Margie Good and husband, George, of Euless; Kathy Baulos and Pat Pophin, of Waco; brother-in-law, Leonard Neumann of Waco; and many nieces and nephews, other family members and friends. She was a devoted companion, mother, sister, aunt and friend. The family would like to thank the staff of Regent Care Center, most especially Becky Wachsmann and Tamika Montgomery, for their care and support.
