Carl Allen Adamik March 29, 1928 - June 15, 2006 Carl Allen Adamik, 78 of Woodway, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2006. Graveside services will be at 9:30 AM Monday, June 19 at Oakwood Cemetery with the Msgr. Mark Deering officiating. Rosary will be at 6 PM Sunday, June 18 with visitation to follow at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Bosque Chapel. Carl was born March 29, 1928 in Waco, TX to Joe and Gertrude Murphy Adamik. He graduated from Waco High School and lived in Waco all of his life. He and Laverne Allen of Mt. Pleasant were married on September 22, 1950. He retired from Southwestern Bell/AT&T in 1984 after 37 years. Carl served in the Texas National Guard and received a Humanitarian Award for saving a fellow soldier’s life. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco. Carl was a story teller, loved gardening, fishing at Lake Mexia and hunting with his close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Laverne, of 51 years in July 2001. He is survived by his son, Joe Adamik and wife, Nancy of Red Oak, his daughter, Nancy Walker and husband, Darrell of Speegleville and his daughter, Myra Abendschein and husband, Gerry of China Spring. Also surviving are his five grandchildren: Shelley Adamik, Jason Adamik, Glenn Walker, Matt Abendschein and Tony Abendschein. Memorial donations may be made to St. Louis Catholic Church.
