Carl Hershel James October 9, 1927 - August 12, 2010 Carl Hershel James of Waco passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010, at his residence. Services will be 3:30 p.m., Monday, August 16, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Chaplain Larry Holden and Rev. William Pack officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m., Sunday, August 15, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Carl was born October 9, 1927, in Chalk Bluff, Texas, to Charles and Ruth James. He served and retired after 20 years with the U.S. Air Force as a flight engineer, retiring as a MSGT. Carl was a member of North Waco Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Carlos James. He is survived by his wife, Tonda James of Waco; sons, Jim James and wife, Carol, of Atlanta, GA; Billy James, Royce James and Hollis James, all of Ft. Worth; and their mother, Mildred James; and sons, James Kilgo and wife, Janet, of Austin; and Riley Kilgo and wife, Amy, of Waco. Also surviving are grandsons, Coby, Caleigh and Colt Kilgo; Jimmy and Michael James; and granddaughters, Lauren and Jordan James; one brother, Charles James, and brother-in-law, Rick Ferguson. Pallbearers are members of the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you offer a special prayer for all veterans.
