Carla Denise DeniBrooks, 49, of Waco, died Friday, December 28, 2001 at her residence. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, January 2,2002 at Herring Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Allen Grant officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Deni was born December 24, 1952 in Waco to Cecil and Wanda Brooks. She graduated from MacArthur High School in San Antonio in 1969. She attended Weaver State College in Ogden, Utah for 2 1/2 years. She entered the navy in 1975 where she was a physician's assistant at Balboa Hospital in San Diego, California until she was honorably discharged in 1979. She earned her associates degree in Nuclear Medicine and completed her training with Scott and White. Deni then began her long fight with Multiple Sclerosis. Deni was a devout Christian and her studies of the bible helped to sustain her through her long illness. She was preceded in death by her father Cecil Clarence Brooks in 1992. She leaves behind her mother, Wanda Juanell Brooks, of Waco; sister, Ranah Younger, and husband Tom of Waco; brother, Kenneth Brooks of Nolanville. Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or the Disabled American Veterans Association.
