Carol Anne Montigny March 20, 1941 – February 27, 2016 Carol Anne Montigny of Woodway, Texas, was called home to be with her Lord on Friday, February 27, 2016. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3, at Crossroads Baptist Church in Lorena, Texas. Carol was born March 20, 1941, in Freeport, New York. She was the daughter of Andrew and Helen Schimmel. She attended Freeport High School. Carol retired from the Bay Shore-Brightwaters Library where she was a clerk. Carol loved watching and attending Baylor Lady Bears Women’s Basketball games as well as playing Bingo. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed playing games on her computer. Carol was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Babylon and a regular attendee of Crossroads Baptist Church in Lorena since moving to Texas ten years ago. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Helen Schimmel; as well as brothers, Warren and Rod Schimmel; and granddaughter, Lindsay Holle. She is survived by her son, Dwayne and wife, Sharon, daughter, Maryjane Williams and husband, Michael, son, Steven and wife, Sonia and son, Kevin; seven grandchildren; her sisters, Joan Hufford and Linda Brower; and brother, John Schimmel; as well as many nieces and nephews. Carol was a wonderful Christian woman and an angel on earth who loved her family deeply. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Cancer Society.
