Carol J. (Metz) Mitchell

Carol J. (Metz) Mitchell, aged 91 and ½, passed away peacefully early Thursday December 12th, 2024. Our beloved mom, grammy, sister, aunt, friend, and Mother Carol was surrounded by her loving family as praise music played. A small memorial service was held graveside Friday, December 13th morning where she was laid to rest with her late husband.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Conrad Paul Metz and Hildur Josephine Oberg Metz and her husband Robert (Bob) Mitchell, who passed away in August of 2016.

Carol was born in Chicago, Illinois and lived in the Chicago area until the 1970’s Carol married her love, Robert Mitchell, October 23rd, 1954. It was after a vacation trip to Texas, that Bob decided they needed to get away from the cold and snow.  Carol was a faithful member of Victory and Praise Worship Center in Waco, she cherished the friends and relationships she had over the years. Carol’s infectious smile warmed the hearts of many and she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Keller and Janice Heinze. As the Matriarch of the family, she also leaves 5 granddaughters, 9 great-grandsons, 3 great-granddaughters and several great-great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
