Carol Jeanne Walton

Carol Jeanne Walton, 77, passed away at Providence Village on February 4, 2025, surrounded by family.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025, in the Chapel at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, and burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Family and friends will meet in the chapel prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. for visitation.

Carol was born on February 24, 1947, in Ft. Worth, Texas, to Dora Lucile (Grusendorf) and Charles Truett Walton. She worked at Hillcrest Hospital for 42 years in the Physical Therapy Department. She assisted in the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony when they opened the new Hillcrest Hospital. She never met a stranger. She loved people, and they loved her. She was an active member of Park Lake Drive Baptist Church from the time she was 16 years old. She enjoyed singing in her church choir and loved going to Branson, Missouri, to hear the musical performances. She enjoyed needlepoint, making placemats, and working puzzles. She loved to read and had quite a collection of books. She was an avid fan of the Baylor Bears football and basketball teams. She dearly loved all her nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Dan Burzynski.

She is survived by her sisters, Donna Burzynski and Beverly Carter and husband Raymond. Carol is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Amy Johnson and husband Marcus, Brian Burzynski and wife Michelle, Crystal Abad and husband Kevin, Summer Everill and husband Paul, as well as her great-nieces and nephews: Cameron Johnson, Annabelle and Elyza Burzynski, Ethan and Avery Abad, and Anya and Kenzie Everill.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support shown by the caring staff of Providence Village and also to Kevin and the Providence Hospice staff, who lovingly cared for Carol, especially in her final hours.
