Pate, Carolina Carolina Marie Geltmeier Pate, 91, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2005 at her niece’s home. Services will be Wednesday, May 25 at 3:30 PM at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Burial to follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, May 24 from 6 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home, 6101 Bosque. Mrs. Pate was born May 21, 1914 in Hill County, Texas to Fritz and Augusta Geltmeier. She married David Dave Pate on June 14, 1947 in Waco. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Malone. She retired from W. T. Grant Department Store in Waco. Carolina’s pride and joy was her yard, which she manicured and maintained to perfection, including her flower and vegetable gardens. She cherished her longtime friendships with her neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave on July 13, 1993, her parents, four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by a niece, Mildred Young of Tokio; nephew, Quinton Geltmeier; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews; two step daughters, Beth Ensor of Fort Worth and Patsy Reeves of Carrollton and several grandchildren and great grandchildren; special friends, Jean Bass and Lola Peppers. Pallbearers will be Randy Geltmeier, Driscoll Jenkins, Pam Young, Paula Young, Rodney Young and Deena Zimmerhanzel. Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
