Carolyn R. Mauer February 23, 1935 - February 25, 2015 Carolyn Ruth Mauer, 80, of Waco passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at Wesley Woods Alzheimer's Care Center. Carolyn was born on February 23, 1935, in Beaumont, Texas, to Gordon and Ruth Legg. She graduated from French High School. During her high school years, she played the flute and was named Band Sweetheart. Carolyn was a member of the Garden Club and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a homemaker who adored her family. Her hobbies were sewing for her children, painting the local scenery, and entertaining friends. She wrote poetry and loved to dance, taught Vacation Bible School, and led units of Girl Scouts during the time her children were involved. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by daughters, Ruth Ann Walker and husband, Greg, of Hillsboro, Cynthia Kay Haynes and husband, Will, of Alexandria, Louisiana; and son, Richard Conrad Mauer and wife, Meredith, of Elgin, South Carolina. Her sisters are Anne Hoffpauir of Wildwood Resort City, Texas, and Gordie Noack of Tampa, Florida. She is survived by twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
