Carolyn Woods Wilson of Woodway, Texas, this earth-bound angel entered her Heavenly Home on Thursday, May 19, 2016. Her service and burial will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Carolyn was born January 1, 1944, in Baytown, Texas, to Louis and Ruth Woods. She was raised in Baytown and attended Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. She was a flight attendant for American Airlines based in Dallas for 30 years. Carolyn and David Wilson were married on January 21, 1978, and lived on Lake Lewisville, north of Dallas. For retirement, they made their home on Lake Waco. Carolyn was a strong Christian witness to everyone she met; always loving, giving and doing for others. She was always active in a Christ-centered church wherever she lived and made church mission trips to Chile, Peru and Bahamas. Having no children of her own, her love overflowed to her niece, Amy; great niece, Daisy; and nephews, Matthew and Philip. Carolyn was a talented and creative china painter who loved to share with others. She was president of the Waco Porcelain Art Club and then president of the State Federation Porcelain Art Clubs of Texas. Her work has been published in an international porcelain art magazine. In her last public outing, April 22, she was inducted into the Hall of Honored Artist by the State Federation Porcelain Art Clubs of Texas at their annual banquet. When Carolyn first went to the hospital, it was the porcelain art friends who first surrounded her; and then the friends from church lifted up Carolyn and David for the months that followed. Sincere appreciation goes to Providence Hospice staff and volunteers for their care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to continue Carolyn’s work at the Temuco, Chile, girls orphanage, by designating Chile Girls Home Fund @ First Baptist Church of Woodway. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in our “Memorial Guestbook” at www.WHBfamily.com.
